Effect of Wollastonite Microfibers and Waste Tire Rubber on Mechanical Properties of Concrete

Abstract The main objective of the present research is to investigate effect adding wollastonite microfibers and waste tire rubber on mechanical properties concrete. For this purpose, two different series mixtures were considered. Different percentages (5, 10, 15, 20 percent) added ordinary concrete tested in first series. Then, second series, specimens amount 20% by weight cement, was replaced with fine aggregate (3, 5, 7, 10 percent aggregate), again. All cured at ages 7 28 days, they for slump, compressive strength, tensile flexural strength. results showed that addition increased compressive, flexural, strengths days age 16, 87, 78%, respectively, compared control specimen. outcomes also demonstrated replacing samples containing reduces strength samples. highest reduction related sample rubber, which has a reduced about sample. Furthermore, while density increases wollastonite. Moreover, presence porosity concrete, but there an increase number pores rubber.
